CUSTOM CODEX PRIVACY POLICY

  1. This Privacy Policy governs the privacy of information Dadavan Systems Inc. (“Dadavan”) collects inside the Custom Codex mobile application and Custom Codex website (the “Service”). This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Dadavan does not own or control. This policy includes examples of the types of information Dadavan collects, and the kinds of parties with whom Dadavan shares such information. These examples are illustrative and should not be considered a complete inventory of Dadavan’s information collection, use, and sharing practices. By installing, using, or accessing the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, do not access or use the Service. Dadavan may update this policy from time to time and will post updates to this policy on this web page, including the policy’s effective date. By your use of the Service, you understand and consent to the collection and use of your data, the transfer of that data in Canada and to and from other countries for storage, processing, and use by Dadavan.
  2. INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

    Dadavan collects a variety of information through general use of the Service that help us convey your identity to users, validate that identity, and help us to deliver a better experience for you in the Service. Dadavan takes reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. However, we cannot control all the individuals and activities on the Internet and elsewhere, and therefore Dadavan cannot guarantee that such information will never be compromised. Your use of the Service is at your own risk. Dadavan urges you to take steps to keep your personal information safe by memorizing your password or keeping it in a safe place.
  3. INFORMATION UPON REGISTRATION

    When creating an account on Custom Codex, Custom Codex asks for and stores an email address you provide upon registration. We do so to be able to contact you and validate your identity if so needed. We will never share or sell your personal information, including your email address, to other companies for any reason, except as required by law. Contact information from the registration forms is used to enhance the customer experience. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out link at the bottom of any email you receive from Custom Codex/Dadavan and remove yourself from the list.
  4. CONTENT, FOLLOWING, AND OTHER PUBLIC INFORMATION

    Custom Codex is a content sharing platform, so most of the information you provide us is information that you choose to be made public. This includes not only the content that you post and data provided with such content, such as when it was posted, but also the accounts you follow, the content that you like and other public interactions on the Services. Your public information is broadly and instantly disseminated.
  5. LOCATION INFORMATION

    Dadavan collects location information from users for reporting purposes to better understand our users and where they interact with Custom Codex. By collecting your IP address and geolocation, Dadavan can better understand you and deliver a better, more personalized experience for you.
  6. LINKS

    Dadavan may keep analytical data on the links, content, and gestures you interact with within the Service to understand better how you use Custom Codex, content that users interact with, and general trends across these links, content, and gestures in the Service. We do this to improve the Service, to better understand our users, and deliver more relevant advertising and engagement statistics for users to share popularity and trending information.
  7. COOKIES

    Dadavan uses “cookies” to allow us to better understand how our users use the Service. Cookies themselves are small pieces of text that are stored by your web browser associated with each visit. Dadavan uses cookies to help us understand how and when you use the Service. These cookies are not personally associated with your real identity, they simply enable us to understand when users are logged in and key functionality so that we are able to provide you with a higher quality, targeted service and understand aggregate user trends. Declining the use of cookies may limit your access to certain features of the Service.
  8. LOG DATA

    Dadavan servers automatically record data (“Log Data”) created by your use of the Service. Log Data may include information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, the referring web page, pages visited, location, your mobile carrier, device and application IDs, search terms, and cookie information. We receive Log Data when you interact with the Service by interacting with our mobile application, visiting our website, signing into the Service, or visiting a third party site or service that includes a Custom Codex widget. Dadavan uses this data to measure, understand, and improve the Service to you.
  9. INFORMATION DISCLOSURE

    Dadavan may share or disclose your information at your direction, such as when you choose to publicly post content or update your profile information. Dadavan may provide information on a confidential basis to nonaffiliated companies Dadavan engages as contractors or agents to perform services for Dadavan, such as hosting services or maintaining software. Information will be shared with such third party service providers only to the extent reasonably necessary for them to perform services on Dadavan’s behalf, and pursuant to confidentiality obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy.
     
    Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Privacy Policy, Dadavan may preserve or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect Dadavan’s rights or property. However, nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any legal defenses or objections that you may have to a third party’s, including a government’s, request to disclose your information.
     
    If Dadavan is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, or if Dadavan goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information may be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any of the acquirer of Dadavan or our assets may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.
     
    We may share or disclose your non-private, aggregated or otherwise non-personal information, such as your public user profile information, public posts, the people you follow or that follow you, or the number of users who clicked on a particular link.
  10. MODIFYING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

    If you are a registered user of our Service, you may modify the profile information you provided or made available to us and associated with your account.
    1. Account Information You may update, correct or delete information about you at any time by logging in to your account. If you would like to cancel your account entirely, please do so in accordance with the Terms of Use governing the Service, but please note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes. For example, any reviews, forum postings and similar materials posted by you may continue to be publicly available on the Service in association with your account name even after your account is cancelled. We may also retain cached or archived copies of information about you for a certain period of time.
    2. Location Information When you first download or launch any of our mobile applications that collect location information or first use any features that use location information, you will be asked to consent to the application’s collection of this information. If you initially consent to our collection of location information, you can subsequently stop the collection of this information at any time by changing the preferences on your mobile device. You may also stop our collection of location information by following the standard uninstall process to remove all of our mobile applications from your device.
    Even if you do not provide us with consent to collect precise location information from your mobile device or platform, we may use your IP address to infer an approximation of your location when using certain features of the Services.
     
    Upon creation of your account, you opted in to receiving a variety of information from us. You may opt out of receiving promotional emails, text messages, and other communications from Dadavan by following the instructions in those emails, text messages or other communications or by logging on to your account and adjusting your user preferences in your account profile. Please note that even if you opt-out from receiving commercial communications, you may still receive administrative communications from Dadavan, such as transaction confirmations, notifications about your account activities (e.g. account confirmations, password changes, etc.), and any other important announcements.
  11. GENERAL USE OF INFORMATION

    Dadavan uses information about you for various purposes, including to:
    1. Enable you to access and use the Service, to personalize the Service, and to optimize the type of content presented to you when you use the Service;
    2. Create and maintain a trusted and safer environment on the Service, including through detection and prevention of fraud, unauthorized access, intrusion, and service interruption;
    3. Conduct investigations and to respond to disputes between users, error resolution, and other similar customer support service;
    4. Enable any identification programs we may institute and in which you elect to participate, such as verifying your identity and address, and conduct checks against various publicly available databases;
    5. Operate, protect, improve and optimize the Service, our business, and our users’ experience;
    6. Perform analytics, conduct research, and monitor and analyze trends, usage and activities in connection with the Service;
    7. Communicate with you about products, services, offers, promotions, rewards, and events offered by Dadavan and others, and provide advertisements that match user profiles or interests, news and information we think will be of interest to you;
    8. Send you service, support and administrative messages, reminders, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and information requested by you;
    9. Comply with our legal obligations or requests from law enforcement agencies, resolve any disputes that we may have with any of our users, and enforce our agreements with third parties;
    10. Link or combine with information we get from others to help understand your needs and provide you with better service;
    11. Assist third-party payment processors with transaction processing, error, chargeback and disputed transaction resolution, and similar payment processing functions; and
    12. Carry out any other purpose for which the information was collected.
    Dadavan is based in Canada and the information we collect is governed by Canadian law. By accessing or using the Service or otherwise providing information to us, you consent to the processing, transfer and storage of information in and to Canada and other countries.
  12. SOCIAL SHARING FEATURES

    The Service may offer social sharing features and other integrated tools (such as the Facebook “Like” button), which let you share actions you take on the Service with other social media, and vice versa. The use of such features enables the sharing of information with your friends or the public, depending on the settings you establish with the entity that provides the social sharing feature.
