"I began shooting the series 7 years ago. The portraits depict musicians of all different walks of life with the purpose of exploring the very individual and personal 'place' each subject goes when they lose themselves in the music they are making.
Every subject played a large role in art directing a very conceptual, sometimes abstract, sometimes literal image that represents that 'place' for tehm. I found the camera to be the perfect tool to explore that idea." - Chris Geworsky
The State of Mine portrait series has been exhibited at NSCAD University, presented as a special event at the 24th AFF, and has been exhibited at the Snider Family Gallery. It has been the subject of a documentary film and has been talked about in the Chronicle Herald, The Coast Weekly, Halifax Magazine, and CTV.
